Child Find

Educating Texas...one child at a time!!

If you suspect an infant, child, or young adult of having a developmental delay or disability, Farmersville ISD can open a window of hope for a brighter future. Services at no cost to the family are available to all eligible individuals from birth to 21 years of age regardless of the severity of their disability. Special services are available to eligible infants, children, and young adults identified with a disability who may be experiencing difficulties in one or more of the following areas:

  • Physical disability
  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Visual Impairment
  • Deaf-Blind
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Emotional Disturbance
  • Learning Disability
  • Speech and/or Language
  • Autism
  • Health Impairments
  • Traumatic Brain Injury

What happens after a referral is made?

  • The parent(s) or legal guardian will be contacted by Farmersville ISD Special Education Department.
  • A committee comprised of parent/guardian and school personnel with determining if an assessment is needed. This same group may develop an assessment plan designed to evaluate areas of concern.
  • An evaluation will be conducted by the appropriate Farmersville ISD personnel at no charge to the family.
  • The parent/guardian, school personnel, and evaluation personnel will have a scheduled meeting to discuss assessment results, determine eligibility, and service options, if applicable.

If your school-age child, 3 -21, attends a private school within the Farmersville ISD boundaries, Farmersville ISD extends the CHILD FIND privileges to these students.
